Lucille Katherine Jarzen, 91, Homemaker

Lucille Katherine Jarzen (nee Mac Arthur), age 91, of Avon Lake, passed away Wednesday, December 8, 2004 at her home following a brief illness.

Mrs. Jarzen was a homemaker, a member of Holy Spirit Ladies’ Guild, where she was a past president. She also was a longtime member of the Avon Lake PTA and a past president of that organization. She enjoyed playing cards, cooking, baking, travel, crossword puzzles, crocheting, needlework, and sewing.

She is survived by her daughter: Cynthia Jarzen of Avon Lake; sons: David Jarzen (Susan) of Gainsville, FL, Robert Jarzen (Sharen) of Clearwater, FL, and Leonard Jarzen (Diane) of Newark, OH. Other survivors include 6 grandchildren: Thomas, Robert, Michael, Kenneth, Joseph, and Theresa; 6 great-grandchildren; and a brother: Edward Mac Arthur of Loudenville, OH.

Her husband of 50 years, Leonard Jarzen, passed away in 1990. She was also preceded in death by her parents: John and Crescentia (nee Reister) Mac Arthur; a brother John Mac Arthur; and 2 sisters: Marguerite Reising and Dorothy Schaefer.

Friends may call the Busch Funeral Home, 163 Avon-Belden Rd., Avon Lake from 3-8 p.m., Sunday, December 12. Prayer services will be at the funeral home on Monday, December 13 at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Spirit Church, 410 Lear Road, Avon Lake at 10 a.m. Fr. James H. Beatty of the church will officiate. Interment will follow inn Holy Cross Cemetery, Brook Park.
