Arthur Irwin Patterson, 84, Maintance Electrician
Arthur Irwin Patterson, 84 of Vermilion, died Tuesday, December 7, 2004 in Kingston of Vermilion after a lengthy illness.He was born June 24, 1920 in Steubenville, Ohio. He has been a Vermilion resident since 1960, moving from White Landing, Ohio.
He was United States Army Veteran serving during WWII in Trinidad and France.
He worked as maintance electrician for the Ford Automotive Plant in Lorain retiring in 1982 after 25 years. He was a member of the Vermilion AMVETS Post #22 and Vermilion American Legion Post # 397. He enjoyed reading, CB radio and scuba diving.
He is survived by sons, James Patterson of Sullivan and Terry Patterson of Vermilion, step son, Robert David Rahr of Vermilion; daughter, Sherry Howes of Wakeman; 11 grandchildren; several great grandchildren, and several great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel in 1993; a daughter Loretta; brothers, Robert, sister, Lila Shultz and his parents, Ira and Estella (nee Butler) Patterson.
The family will receive friends Thursday, December 9, 2004 from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. The Vermilion Veterans Council will conduct MIlitary evening services at 7 pm.
Services will be held at the Riddle Funeral Home, Friday, December 10, 2004, at 11 am, with Matt Humphrey, funeral celebrant will officiate.
Interment will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
