Maxine Abbey Butler, 86, Secular Third Order Franciscan

2004, at Community Health Partners Hospital & Surgical Center in Lorain, OH
following a short illness.

Miss Butler was born on March 10, 1918, in Lorain, OH and was a lifelong
resident.

She was a graduate of St. Mary High School Class of 1936. She was a graduate of the Oberlin School of Commerce and attended Lorain County Community College. She was a member of St. Mary Church where she served as a lector and sang in the choir. She was a Secular Third Order Franciscan. She had been employed at Sears & Roebuck Department Store in downtown Lorain: where she was a department head. She was also a secretary and office manager of the family business Thomas Butler Plumbing and Heating Contractor. She retired from the Citizens Savings as a cashier after a number of years of service.

Miss Butler was a member of AARP #399, a member and volunteer at Lorain Community Seniors. She enjoyed golf, reading, swimming, watercolor painting, playing the piano and traveling both the US and abroad.

She is survived by several cousins.

Miss Butler is preceded in death by her parents Thomas F. and Nora (nee Martin) Butler.

Friends may call at Schwartz Spence Boyer & Cool Home for Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain, OH, on Tuesday, December 7, 2004 from 9 a.m. until prayers at 9:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow prayers at 10 a.m. in the St. Mary Church, corner of 8th St. and Reid Ave, in Lorain. Rev. Daniel O. Divis, pastor will officiate.

Maxine A. Butler will be buried at Calvary Cemetery in Lorain, OH.
