Mary Evelyn Ellis-Parker, 91, Known by all as ��Aunt Janie��
Mary Evelyn Ellis Parker, age 91, of Avon Lake, and formerly of Cleveland, died Tuesday, November 30, 2004 at her residence while under the care of the Hospice of Western Reserve following a brief illness.She was born September 20, 1913 in Getaway, OH and had been a residence of Avon Lake since 1966, coming from Cleveland.
She was raised on a self-sufficient farm in Southern Ohio. Known by all as ‘’Aunt Janie’’, Mary was a tireless worker and pillar of her family who touched the lives of many friends and relatives. Her home was always seen as a safe haven which to turn in times of trouble where she was always there with open arms to welcome you.
Mrs. Parker was formerly employed as a punch press operator for the Heller Staple Company of Cleveland.
She is survived locally by nephews: Ron Ellis, Delbert Ellis and his wife: Maria, Jeffery Ellis, Rick Fout and his wife: Peggy, Ted Bowen and his wife: Marilyn; along with nieces Tami Ellis, Terry Ellis, and Ruby Ellis.
Visitation will be Sunday from 6-8 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., in Lorain. Graveside services will be Monday at 12:30 p.m. in Betzer Cemetery in Carroll, OH.
