Linda C. Oravec, 59, LPN

She was born September 21, 1945 in Decatur, Alabama and had resided in Avon since 1995, moving from Amherst. She had been a Lorain County resident since childhood.

Mrs. Oravec was a graduate of the St. Joseph School of Nursing in Lorain and worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse for over 22 years.

Mrs. Oravec was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church in Elyria, Order of the Eastern Star, Women of Elk Moose and V.F.W Post #451 Ladies Auxiliary all of Lorain. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and being a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Richard J. Oravec, daughters Cynthia M. DeMarco of Avon and Diana M. Keron of Amherst; 4 grandchildren, and her brother, Lloyd Reeves of Tennessee.

She was preceded in death by her parents Lonnie C. Reeves and Nellie P. Reeves-Wukle.

The family will receive friends Thursday 4-8 PM at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain. Funeral services will be held in the funeral chapel on Friday at 9:15 AM followed by a funeral mass at 10:00 AM at St. Jude Catholic Church, 590 Poplar St,, Elyria. The Rev. Frank Kosem, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Township.
