Edward Dupakoski, 79, U.S. Army WWII Veteran

Edward Dupakoski, 79, of Avon, died Sunday, November 21, 2004 at his home following a lengthy illness.

He was born July 15, 1925 in Columbia Station and resided in Avon the past 50 years.

Edward served in the U.S. Army in Europe during World War II and was a member of the V.F.W. Post 7035, Avon. He was employed for forty years as a Tool and Die Maker for S. & Z. Tool and Die, Cleveland. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and was a sports fan.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Lavrne (nee Nimrichter); two sons, Edward (Mamie) of Oberlin and Michael (Diane) of Columbus; five grandchildren; and three sisters, Sophie Johnson and Eleanore Byarn both of Texas and Florence Dupakoski of New York and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanislas and Cazmira (nee Nalepa) Dupakoski, four brothers, Eugene, Benjamin, Rudolph, and Theodore Dupakoski and two sisters, Martha Yost, and Helen Dupakoski.

Friends may call at the BUSCH FUNERAL HOME, 32000 Detroit Rd. Avon from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Friday. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home Saturday November 27, 2004 at 10 a.m. Fr. Thomas Cleaton, pastor of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church, Avon will officiate. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon, where V.F.W. Post 9871 North Ridgeville will conduct military honors.
