Amelia S. Pandy, 85, Seamstress
Amelia S. "Amy" Pandy, age 85, of Lorain, died Thursday November 18, 2004 in the intensive care unit of Community Health Partners Hospital and Surgical Center following an extended illness.She was born March 15, 1919 in Daisytown, Pennsylvania and had been a resident of Lorain for the past 80 years.
Mrs. Pandy was a graduate of Lorain High School in the class of 1937-B. She had been employed as a seamstress for the former Weitz Clothiers located on Pearl Avenue in Lorain. She later served in an office management with the Cheyenne Furriers of Cheyenne, Wyoming, and had most recently worked in a variety of capacities at Gargus Studios.
She was a current member of Christ United Methodist Church in Lorain and it's Women's Society- She was a former member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lorain as well as a member of the Black River Township Fire Department Women's Auxiliary and the Masson and Charleston Schools Parent Teacher Organizations. She also was a former Girl Scout Leader with the Erie Shores Council.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years: Edward of Lorain, daughters: Mrs. Larry (Susan) Johnson of Avon Lake, Mrs. Michael (Jeanine) Walton of Amherst, and Mrs. William (Kathleen) Griesser of Avon; 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Andrew and Susan (flee Gargus) Boros; half-sister: Mary Boros, and several aunts and uncles.
Friends are invited to attend her memorial service Sunday at 2 p.m. in Christ United Methodist Church, 3015 Meister Road, Lorain. The Reverend Matthew Darrin, pastor of Christ United Methodist church will officiate. Private family burial will take place in Ridge Hill memorial Park - Amherst Township.
