Chester "Chet" R. Mason, 82, Milkman and Truck Driver

Chester "Chet" R. Mason, age 82, of Peoria, Arizona, passed away November 15, 2004 in Arizona following a short illness.

Mr. Mason was born, December 25, 1921 and had lived most of his life in Elyria and Lorain before moving to New Port Richey, FL where he lived for 15 years and in 2000 he moved to Peoria, Arizona.

Mr. Mason was a 50 year member of the Freemason Masonic Lodge. He served in the United States Coast Guard during WWII and was a "Gallon Donor" member to the Blood Bank of Lorain County.

Mr. Mason worked as a Milkman for Bauer Dairy for 22 years and then became a truck driver for Commercial Motor Freight from where he retired.

He loved his family and friends1 enjoyed playing cards, riding bike, golfing, building model cars, traveling, dancing and Big Band Music. He cherished his dog Bridgett.

Mr. Mason is survived by his loving companion of 24 years, Marian Brown of Clyde OH and Peoria AZ; daughters Maryann Wood of North Ridgeville and Peggy Mason of Elyria and son Edward Mason of Holiday FL. Other survivors include 3 grandchildren and a great grandchild.

He is also survived by beloved friends and family Margaret Mason (former wife) and Bob and Karen Metzgar (step children).

Friends may call at the Busch Funeral Home 114 Second St. Elyria for a Memorial Visitation, Tuesday, November 23 from Noon to 2 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Memorial services will be private. Memorial Contributions may be forwarded to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix, AZ 85014.
