Todd R. Matthews, 19, Sophomore at Baldwin Wallce College

Todd was a sophomore at Baldwin Wallace College where he was an Outside Linebacker for the Yellow Jackets. He was a 2003 Midview High School graduate where he earned numerous athletic accolades including 2002 and 2003 Football Player of the Year and was a member of the Lorain County All Conference Team. His passion was playing sports but he also enjoyed fishing, friends and family and doing puzzles with his grandmother.

Survivors include his mother Kim (nee Romans) Matthews of Grafton; father Robert Matthews of West Virginia; his brother Robert Matthews of Grafton and Jason Whitzel of Oberlin; Grandmother Louise H. Romans of Grafton and several Aunts, Uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather Ralph E. Romans.

Friends may call Tuesday, November 16, 2004, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at Wyers Funeral Chapel, 2900 North Ridge Rd in Elyria. A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at North Eaton Christian Church Disciples of Christ located at 35895 Royalton Rd in Grafton. The Rev. Judy Ponting will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made at any First Merit Bank location to the Todd R. Matthews Memorial Fund.
