Ann T. Costello, 89, Avid Bowler

Ann T. Costello, (nee Machnic), age 89, of Lorain, died Tuesday, November 9, 2004 at the New Life Hospice Center of Saint Joseph following an extended illness.

She was born November 26, 1914 in Lorain and had been a life-long resident of the city.

Ann attended the Lorain Public Schools and was a current parishioner of the Catholic Church of Saint Peter in Lorain. She had previously attended Saint John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church in South Lorain. Her hobbies included cooking and lake fishing. She was also an avid bowler who participated extensively in league bowling competition throughout the area; in 2003 she was inducted into the Lorain Women Bowler's Hall of Fame for her accomplishments in the sport.

Mrs. Costello is survived by sons: Joseph F., Richard, and William all residing in Lorain, daughters: Cheryl Barlow and Carol White both of Lorain, and Rosemary Taylor of Lakewood, fourteen grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Joseph in 2001, by her parents: Frank and Frances Machnic, and by a sister: Angela Bennett.

Visitation will be Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel - 3224 Broadway - Lorain. Funeral services will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel with the Reverend Charles Henkle, O.F.M. Conv., associate pastor of the Church of Saint Peter presiding. Entombment will follow in the Resurrection Mausoleum of Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
