Joseph T. Versace, 73, US Steel Retiree
Joseph T. Versace, 73, of Lorain, died Wednesday October 27, 2004 in the emergency room at Community Health Partners Hospital West in Lorain after a brief illness.He was born November 17, 1930 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain area resident.
Mr. Versace served with the US Naval Reserve for two years. He worked at US Steel in Lorain as a parts supplier for over 30 years and retired in the early 1980's.
Mr. Versace was a member of the Catholic Church of St. Peter in Lorain. He enjoyed cooking and helped cater spaghetti dinners and other events. He enjoyed fishing and collecting baseball cards.
He is survived by his brothers Richard ‘’Ace’’ Versace and Daniel Versace, both of Lorain, 2 nieces, 1 nephew, 2 great nieces and 2 great nephews.
His parents Agostino & Mary (nee Maddulan) Versace preceded him in death.
The family will receive friends Saturday 4-6 p.m. at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain. Private burial with military honors will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Lorain at a later date.
