Leonard H. Galehouse, 94, Carpenter

He was born on November 26, 1909 in Wakeman, Ohio and had been an Elyria resident of most of his life, before moving to Vermi8lion in 2003.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army from September 18, 1927 to September 27, 1932. He served as a Private in Troop
A of the 5th Calvary Horse Division.
He was a carpenter by trade and was employed through the Carpenter’s Union Local #34, of which he was a 50 year member and the United Brotherhood of Carpenters Union Local #305. He enjoyed woodworking and concrete statuary sculptures.
He is survived by 38 nieces and nephews and over 60 great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Pat Galehouse in 1998; his parents, George and Carrie Bell (nee Moshier) Galehouse and a brother.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 27, 2004 at 7 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion. Reverend Jim Holmer, pastor of St. Mary Catholic Church, officiating. Private family inurnment will be in the New Philadelphia Union Cemetery in Port Washington, Ohio
