Richard P. Strauser, 72, US Army Veteran
Richard P. Strauser, age 72, of Lorain, and formerly of Amherst, died Tuesday October 12, 2004 at the New Life Hospice Center of Saint Joseph following an extended illness.He was born March 6, 1932 in Gloversville, New York and had been a resident of Lorain County for most of his life.
Mr. Strauser was a graduate of Lorain High School and a veteran of the United States Army serving as a Corporal in the armored tank division during the Korean Conflict.
A member of the Lions International, he was employed as a truck driver for the American Crucible Company of Lorain.
Survivors include sons: Richard of Lakewood, Douglas, and Scott.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Paul and Thelma (nee Fish) Strauser and a brother: Donald.
Funeral services with full military honors were conducted on Tuesday, October 19th at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel of Lorain.
