Stephania Rozmarynowycz, 88, Enjoyed Gardening and Singing

Born January 30, 1916 in Zadachiv, Ukraine, she fled the Ukraine in 1941 with her husband and their 2 oldest children to Germany where they lived until coming to the United States in 1951. In 1952 they settled in Oberlin.
Stephania worked for the Oberlin Laundry for 25 years, retiring in 1992. She enjoyed gardening, growing flowers, canning and singing.
Surviving are her sons; Walter of Sheffield Lake, Peter of Oberlin, Paul of Versi, KY, Rev. Mychail of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Basil of Sheffield Village, daughters; Sr. Maria Rozmarynowycz of the Sisters of St. Basil the Great of Rome, Italy, Anna Credi of Troy, Michigan, Rosalie Behrnes of Batten Rouge, Louisiana, Vera Rozmarynowycz and Zenovia Rozmarynowycz both of Sterling Heights, Michigan, and Olga Vaughn of Indianapolis, Indiana, 23 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, sisters; Slavka, Olha, and Maria all of the Ukraine.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Ivan in 2002, parents; Michael Plutash and Rosalie (nee Pavloska) Plutash, son; Stephan in 1954, brothers; Eugene, Walter, Roman, Genko, and Ivan.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain, where a panachida will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home followed by Divine Liturgy at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Byzantine Catholic Church, E. 31st and Charleston Ave., Lorain. Rev. Fr. Steven M. Poliwoda, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
