Eleanor A. Butchko, 81, Enjoyed traveling, dancing, and crossword puzzles

Born on March 10, 1923 in Lorain, she moved to Avon Lake in 1953.
She was a 1941 graduate of Lorain High School and had served as the treasurer of the reunion committee since 1951. She worked 12 years at the Electric Cord Set Company in quality control in Bay Village, Avon Lake as well as Angola, Indiana and Wolcottville, Indiana.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Avon Lake, the Council of Catholic Women, and AARP #2190 where she served on the board of directors and served as chairman of registration. She also belonged to the Lorain Senior Center and several travel clubs.
She enjoyed traveling, crocheting, line dancing, physical fitness programs, collecting teddy bears and ceramic birds. She also enjoyed working crossword puzzles.
Surviving are her sisters: Betty Simo, of Sheffield Village, Darlene Kajganich, of Lorain, brothers: Anthony Martincin, of Prospect, IL, Richard Martincin, of Sheffield and Eugene Martincin, of Lorain, many nieces and nephew and great nieces and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years: Louis J. Butchko in 1980, her parents: Joseph Martincin in 1959 and Sophie (nee Hoya) Martincin in 1953, brother: Joseph Martincin, Jr. sisters: Helen Bacha in 1971, Cecilia Farkas and Mildred Groboske.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 3, 2004 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain where funeral services will be at 9:15 a. m. followed by a mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 32929 Lake Road, Avon Lake, Rev. Fr. James Becherer, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
