Bernice A. Brzuszek, 95, Enjoyed making conversation and word puzzles

Born August 1, 1908 in Elyria, Ohio, she lived in Lorain for 70 years.
She was a homemaker and an active member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Lorain, where she attended mass daily.
Bernice was a member and past treasurer of the St. Ann's Lodge #75 of the Union of Poles in America and a member of the Church's Rosary Society where she had served as vice president and lead the rosary for daily masses for many years. During World War II she began a neighborhood "block" rosary group which continued for 30 years. She was recognized by State Representative Sherrod Brown as an Official Poll Worker for 25 Years having volunteered at the voting booth in Lorain.
She enjoyed making conversation and working on word searches, having worked on them until her last day. She also enjoyed listening to the Polka Express AM radio program on Sunday mornings.
Surviving is her son: Joseph L. of Monroeville, PA, daughter: Florence Brusk, of Lorain, 3 grandchildren, and 1 great granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 34 Joseph, in 1965, brothers: John and Albert Oseka, sisters: Mary Post and Helen Maslinski.
Family will receive friends on Friday from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain where a rosary service by the Altar and Rosary Society of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, will be conducted at 3:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 9:45 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, E. 28th Street and Elyria Ave., Lorain. Rev. Fr. Kevin Shemuga, pastor, and Rev. William Schill, deacon both of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
