William L. Wallace, 77, enjoyed bowling, boating, traveling, and reading.
William L. Wallace, age 77 of Lorain, died Saturday June 26, 2004 at Community Health Partners Hospital West, following a sudden illness.He was born September 7, 1926 in Lorain, and had been a life-long resident.
Mr. Wallace was a World War II Army Air Force Veteran, previously serving as a Private First Class. He also worked as a Foreman in the Seamless Finishing Development, for the U.S. Steel Corp. for 39 years, until his retirement in 1983. He was a member of Senior Fellowship, and enjoyed bowling, boating, traveling, working on cars, and reading.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Esther Wallace (nee Wolf), his son Kenneth Wallace of Lorain, his daughter Leslie Buga of Lorain, and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by parents; Frederick and Gaynell (Deyo) Wallace, his brothers; Ralph, Robert, and James Wallace, and sisters; Dorothy Robbins and Nellie Bower.
Friends may call Monday from 5 to 9 p.m. at the, 2920 Broadway, Lorain, OH. Funeral services will commence on Tuesday at 11 a.m. also at the Reichlin-Cooley Funeral Home. Rev. Carl Richter, pastor of the First Congregational Church, will officiate. Burial will follow at the Elmwood Cemetery.
