Regina E. Poyle, 87, Enjoyed crosswords and watching the Indians

Born Oct. 9, 1916 in Portage, PA, she lived in Republic, PA before coming to Lorain in 1940. Since 1994, she had made her home with her daughter in Amherst.
Regina worked in housekeeping for Southview High School, Lorain, retiring in 1974. Regina had also worked for Central Bakery, Lorain, in the late 1940's. She was a member of St. John Roman Catholic Church, Lorain, and enjoyed doing word searches and watching the Cleveland Indians.
Surviving is her son, Regis, of Elyria, 3 daughters, Bernice "Dodie" McPhee, Lena Maysonet, both of Lorain, and Rosemary Taylor, of Amherst, 9 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandson, a sister, Coletta Hiles, of Isabella, PA.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert, in 1968, brothers, Bernard Zellers, and Leonard G. Zellers, her sister, Leona Hiles, in 1998.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5-9 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain. Funeral services will be Thursday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. John Roman Catholic Church, Grove Avenue and Homewood Drive, Lorain. Rev. Fr. Thomas V. Rath, pastor Emeritus, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
