Eleanor A. Cleaver-Palagyi, 84, Caregiver
Eleanor A. Cleaver-Palagyi (nee Stirzaker), 84, of Sheffield Township, died Friday, April 23, 2004, at Center Ridge Nursing Home in North Ridgeville after a long illness.She was born November 10, 1919 in Lorain and had resided in Sheffield Township most of her life.
She worked at the General Motors Fisher Guide Plant in Elyria as an assembler for 20 years before retiring.
Mrs. Cleaver-Palagyi was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Elyria Township and the church altar and rosary society. She spent much of her time being a caregiver for several family members.
She is survived by her brother James Stirzaker of North Ridgeville and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband Charles Cleaver, second husband William Palagyi in 2003, parents, Leopold and Eulalia (nee Bach) Stirzaker and sister Catherine Lang-Sopko.
The family will receive friends Monday, April 26, 2004, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Glunva-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain where St. Vincent de Paul Altar and Rosary Society will pray the rosary Monday at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be he3ld Tuesday, April 27th at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel followed by a funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 41295 N. Ridge Road, Elyria. The Rev. James Ols, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
