Tara M. Pitts, 28, Enjoyed outdoor activities with her son

Tara M. Pitts (nee Balogh), age 28, of Lakewood, Washington and formerly of Avon Lake was found dead in her apartment on April 21, 2004.

Born in Lorain on January 27, 1976, she graduated from Avon lake High School in 1994. She recently started a job with Walgreens as a pharmaceutical technician. Tara enjoyed outdoor activities with her son and was involved with the Family Readiness Group at Ft. Lewis with the 864th Engineers. She also taught kindergarten Bible school at Our Lady of the Mountain Catholic Community and donated blood with the Red Cross.

Survivors include her son Joseph, mother Diana Sherwin of Sheffield Lake, father Frank Balogh Sr. of Lorain, brother Frank Balogh Jr. of Sheffield Lake, maternal grandparents, Andrew and Majorie Matleski of Lorain, great grandmother Frances Williams of Norwalk, nephew Tyler and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Greg and Marie Balogh, cousin Jerry White, uncle Jack North and great grandfather Paul Williams.

Friends may call at the Busch-Burmeister Family Chapel, 163 Avon-Belden Road, Avon Lake from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-9:00 p.m. Friday, April 30, 2004. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 410 Lear Road, Avon Lake, Saturday, May 1, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. Rev. James H. Beatty will officiate. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon. Memorial contributions may be made to the Crime Victims Compensation Program or charity of choice.
