Ethel F. Hupp, 89, Enjoyed cooking, sewing, and gardening

Born November 19, 1914, in Montgomery County, Virginia, she came to Lorain in 1925 and lived here until moving to Cleveland in 1932. In 1942 she moved to Lakewood where she lived most of her life until moving to North Ridgeville in 1998. She has lived in North Olmsted for the past 2 years.
She was the owner and operator of City Motorcycle Delivery, Cleveland that was started in the 1930's with her late husband, Charles. She retired in the early 1970's.
She was a member of Lakewood Baptist Church, Lakewood, and was active in the women's club of the church, and was the leader of Girl Scout Troop #88 of Lakewood. She served with the 5th Area Mobile Police, specializing in security and civil defense from 1956 until the mid 1960's.
Besides caring for elderly friends over the years she enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening and flower arranging, and collecting antiques.
Surviving are her 2 daughters: Joyce J. Grunda, of Lorain, and Janet K. Hufenbach, of Rocky River; 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Charles E. in 1963; 2 sisters: Rose Thiery in 1992 and Eva Smith in 1947; and her parents: Aaron Nolley, and Catherine (nee Guthrie) Nolley.
Family services with burial were held at Sunset Memorial Park, North Olmsted yesterday. The Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain handled the arrangements.
