Andrew "Andy" L. Bandell, 78, Enjoyed Fishing
Andrew "Andy" L. Bandell, 78, of Lorain, died Tuesday, April 20, 2004, at his daughter's residence in Indianapolis, Indiana, while under the care of hospice, following a one year illness.Born October 5, 1925 in Bridgeport, Connecticut, he moved to New York in 1930. In 1957, he moved to Lorain, and had lived here since.
He served in the US Navy during World War II for 3 years. Andy was a self employed carpet installer for 15 years, retiring in the late 1970's. Prior to that, he worked for L & J Carpet in Lorain as a carpet installer for many years.
He enjoyed traveling to Canada's Martin River, fishing, and was an avid movie watcher.
Surviving is his daughter, Patricia Rose, of Indianapolis, Indiana, sons, Andrew Jr., of Indianapolis, Indiana, Harry, of Wakeman, Ohio, and Edward, of Brunswick, Ohio, 12 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Lillian (nee Bennett), in 1996, a sister, Shirley, in 1996, and his parents, Harry and Eleanor (nee Stairs) Bandell.
Private family visitation and funeral services were held yesterday in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain. Rev. Fr. James Ols, pastor of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, officiated.
