Orvel L. Leisure, 83, Avid hunter and fisherman, WWII Veteran

Photo of Orvel L. Leisure Orvel L. Leisure, 83, of Huron, died Monday, April 19, 2004 in Autumn Aegis Nursing Home, Lorain, after a 2 � month illness.

He was born May 26, 1920 in McHenry, Kentucky and lad lived in Vermilion since the 1960’s.

He was a WWII Veteran of the US Army. He served in Tunisia, Po Valley, Naples-Foggia, Rome-Arno, and the North Appenines. He retired from Ford Motor, Lorain where he worked in the body shop. He was a life member of Vermilion VFW Post #397. He was an avid hunger and fisherman and he enjoyed boating.

He is survived by a daughter, Debra Fortes of Garfield Heights, two sisters, Betty Nance of Harford, Kentucky and Hilda Wood of Belleville, Michigan, a brother Woodrow Hines of Owensboro, Kentucky, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Elwood Hines and his parents, Bick Lee and Ida Pearl (nee Kitchens) Leisure.

The family will receive friends on Friday, April 23, 2004 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio.

Services will be held at the Riddle Funeral Home, Saturday, April 24, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Meadow Green Cemetery, Huron where Military Graveside Services will be conducted by the Vermilion Veterans Council.
