Ann C. Chapman, 84, WWII Veteran of the British Royal Air Force

Photo of Ann C. Chapman Ann C. Chapman (nee Moss), 84, formerly of Vermilion, died Monday, April 19, 2004 in Mariner Health Care, Toledo after extended illness.

She was born November 18, 1919 in Welshpool, Great Britain. She had been a Vermilion resident for the past 13 years, moving from Elyria.

She worked for Pfaulder Co. in Elyria, for 10 years, and had worked at Oberlin College in the German-Russian Department as department a secretary retiring in 1980. She also worked at the Harbour Store in Vermilion, Merle Norman Cosmetics, in Vermilion.

She was a Veteran of the British Royal Air Force during WWII. She moved to the United States with the French embassy. She enjoyed gardening, animals, and traveling throughout Europe and the East.

Survivors include her daughters: Karen Chapman of Oberlin, and Gail O’Keffe of Vermilion; 3 grandchildren; and 1 great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Kenny; brothers: Captain Jack Moss and Joseph Moss; sisters: Evelyn Wanstall and Gladys Moss; and her parents: Albert and Agnes Moss

Friends may call Thursday, April 22 from 5-8 p.m. and also from 9 p.m. until the time of service at II on Friday at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. The Reverend Terry Parker, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church will officiate.

Interment will follow in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
