Agnes P. Drstvensek, 84, Enjoyed volunteering, golf, and traveling
Agnes P. Drstvensek (nee Tomazin), 84, of Lorain, died Monday, April 19, 2004 at Community Health Partners Hospital in Lorain.She was born June 29, 1919 in Lorain, Ohio and had been a lifelong Lorain area resident. She was a graduate of the Lorain High School class of 1937B.
Mrs. Drstvensek was a member of Saints Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Lorain, the Ladies Guild of the Church, Slovenian Women’s Union #40, and the Lakeland Women’s Club. She volunteered for several organizations and enjoyed golfing, traveling and spending her winters in Florida.
She is survived by her son John Drstvensek of Columbus, daughter Elaine Edgar of Worthington, three grandsons, sisters Angeline Grayson and Anne Tomsic, both of Lorain and brother Mike Matijasic of Lorain. She was preceded in death by her husband John Lefty Drstvensek on May 1, 2001, parents Andrew and Agnes Tomazin (nee Petrasic), sister Mary Safran and brothers Andrew Tomazin, Rudy Tomazin, and John Tomazin.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 21, 2004 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain where the Parish Rosary will be held Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral chapel followed by a funeral mass at 11:30 a.m. at Ss. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church, 1705 E. 31st St., Lorain. The Rev. Paul Krajnik, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
