Alice M. Tipper, 69, Worked for Meals on Wheels, enjoyed camping

Alice Mary Tipper (nee: Williams), 69 years of age, and a resident of Amherst passed away Saturday at Golden Acres Nursing Home in Amherst after a sudden illness.

She was born Lakewood, and resided in Lakewood most of her life. She lived on Catawba Island for ten years before moving to Amherst four months ago. She graduated from Lakewood High School.

Mrs. Tipper was a dietician and worked for the Meals on Wheels program in Lakewood for 20 years, retiring in 1991. She was a member of the Lakewood Campers Club. She enjoyed camping and spending time with her family.

Survivors include one son, Glenn Tipper of Amherst and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Paul R. Tipper in 2001 by one brother, Ron Williams and by her parents, Evan and Esther (nee Twigg) Williams.

Friends may call Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 8:00 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave.; Amherst. The Rev. John Miceli from St. Joseph Catholic Church in Strongsville will officiate.
