Charles C. Fury, 83, WWII Veteran, owned Family Home Builders
Charles C. Fury, age 83, of Vermilion, died Friday, April 16, 2004 at Ohio Extended Care Center in Lorain following a lengthy illness.He was born on October 14, 1920 in Marlington, West Virginia and has lived in Vermilion since 1953, moving from West Virginia.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during WWII in Europe, North Africa and the South Pacific as a carpenters mate. He was a master carpenter for Carpenter's Local 305 for 50 years and also owned and was president of Family Home Builders in Vermilion. He was a member of AMVETS Post 22 in Vermilion, He enjoyed traveling and time spent with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Mary (nee McQueen) Fury of Vermilion; daughter, Sandra Kemp of Avon; Sons, Rick Fury of Avon and Charles M. Fury of Vermilion; 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; sister, Sr. Mary Edward, P.C.J. of Columbus.
He was preceded-in-death by his first wife, Frances Fury in 1990.
Friends may call Tuesday, April 20, 2004 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Graveside Funeral Services will be held at the Maple Grove Cemetery, Mason Road, Vermilion, at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 21, 2004. The Vermilion Veteran’s Council will provide military honors,
