Anna P. Kimmell, 95, Homemaker, Volunteer for Meals on Wheels
Anna Pearl Kimmell (nee Jarrett), 95 years of age, and a resident of Amherst passed away Friday, April 16, 2004 at Amherst Manor Nursing Home following a lengthy illness.She was born April 17, 1908 in Scottdale, Pennsylvania where she was raised and lived for 84 years. She has been a resident of Amherst for the past eleven years.
She was a homemaker and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Mt. Pleasant Pennsylvania. She was also a volunteer for Meals on wheels while in Mt. Pleasant.
Survivors include her son Paul J. Kimmel of Lettsdale, Pennsylvania; her daughter Barbara Evans of Amherst; seven grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and her brother John Jarrett of Monaca, Pennsylvania.
She was preceded in death by her husband of thirty-two years, Paul Kimmell in 1960; by her daughter Beverly Firmstone in 1977; by her parents Harry R. Jarrett in 1974 and Lena P. Jarrett (nee: Johnson) in 1969; and by her sisters Florence Ellis and Meredith Kennel.
Friends may call Monday from 6 - 9 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. from the funeral home. The Rev. Louis Kayatin, pastor of Church on the North Coast in Lorain, will officiate. Burial will be in Scottdale Cemetery, on Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. in Scottdale, Pennsylvania.
