Virginia Sober, 83, Worked at Lake Erie Lanes for 25 years
Virginia Sober, age 83, of Vermilion died Saturday, April 10, 2004 in Community Health Partners in Lorain following a sudden illness,She was born on December 29, 1920 in Cleveland, Ohio where she was raised and has lived in Vermilion since 1952.
She graduated from St. Mary High School in Lorain and had worked at the Lake Erie Lanes Bowling Alley for 25 years. She had managed their day care and snack bar. She was a charter member of AMVETS Post 22 Auxiliary and was a past commander of the VFW Post 7575 Auxiliary.
She enjoyed playing bingo and patch quilting.
Survivors include her sons, Raymond Bober and Thomas Bober, both of Norwalk; 7 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Louis Bober, her parents, Francisco and Natalie (nee Funtez) Vacca and a sister, Mary Wallace.
Friends may call Wednesday, April 14, 2004 from 3:00 p.m. until the time of a Memorial Service at 4:00 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio.
Private family burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst. Memorial contributions may be made care of the family.
