Amos Lincoln Anderson, 78, U.S. Navy Veteran

Amos was born July 25, 1925 in Washington, DC. He has been a Vermilion resident for the past 46 years moving from Billerica, Massachusetts.
Mr. Anderson was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during WWII. He worked as a repairman for Ford Motor in Lorain for 42 years retiring on January 1, 1988.
He was a member of United Church of Christ Congregational, where he served as head usher and on the Diaconate. He also was a Boy Scout leader for troop # 447. He volunteered at the food pantry, and delivered Meals on Wheels. He enjoyed camping, traveling and fishing.
Amos is survived by his wife of 58 years: Anne (nee Steed) Anderson; a daughter: JoAnn Bard of Vermilion; 4 sons: Bruce Anderson of Huron, Neil Anderson of Lorain, Glenn Anderson of Sutton, WV, and Ralph Anderson of Vermilion; 10 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and a brother: James Edward Anderson of Boynton Beach, FL.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and an aunt, who raised him: Johanna Anderson.
The family will receive friends on Monday, April 12, 2004 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio.
Services will be held at the Riddle Funeral Home, Tuesday, April 13, 2004, at 11 a.m. The Reverend Wendell Brooker, pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery.
