Gregorio "Tito's Bar" Cruz, 90, Owner/operator of Tito's Bar and Restaurant

Gregorio "Tito's Bar" Cruz, age 90, of Cincinnati, formerly of Lorain, died on Wednesday, April 7, 2004 in Cincinnati, Ohio, following a lengthy illness.

Born on June 17, 1913 in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico, he came to Lorain in 1938 and lived here until moving to Pennsylvania in 1980. In 1999 he then moved to Cincinnati.

Mr. Cruz was employed at US Steel in the Coke Plant for 35 years, retiring in 1980. He also was the owner/operator of Tito's Bar and Restaurant on 28th Street for 12 years.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Chapel. He was a member of the United Steel Workers Union Local 1104.

Gregorio is survived by his wife of 53 years: Ana Cruz (nee Diaz); son: Heriberto Cruz of Cleveland; daughter: Ana Cruz, of Cincinnati; 10 grandchildren and 12 great- grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Emillo and Marcelina Diaz; brother: Sergio Vasquez and sister: Elisia Vasquez.

Services were held in Cincinnati. A Memorial mass will be held on Monday, April 19, 2004 at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue, Lorain. The Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain handled local arrangements.
