Richard H. Johnson, 65, Retired from Ford in 1995, enjoyed Harleys
Richard H. Johnson, age 65, of Elyria, died on Tuesday, March 30, 2004 at EMH Regional Medical Center, Elyria, following a brief illness.Born September 2, 1938 in Koshkovong, Missouri, he had lived in Vermilion from 1979-1985 before moving to Lorain. He has been a resident of Elyria for the pasts 6 months.
Richard was employed at Ford Motors in Avon Lake as a superintendent in the paint department for 36 years, retiring in 1995. He was a member of the Amvets post 47 of Lorain and a former long time member of the Mason's. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and took pride in having owned 11 Harleys over the years.
He is survived by his sons, William Dalton and Steven Dalton, both of Kansas City, Missouri, daughter, Denise Parks, of Lorain, 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, brothers: William, Charles Lewis, James Barton, Ronald Joe, and sisters: Janette, Velma, Virginia Lea, Barbara Faye, Wanda Louise, and Ruby Maxine.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Walter Johnson and Alta Mae (nee Carlile) and sister: Mae Johnson.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 3, 2004 from 3-5 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain, where services will be held at 4:30 p.m. Rev. Clara Robinson, minister from Church on the North Coast, will officiate.
