Henry G. Oppmann, 69, Enjoyed sporting events and gardening

He was born June 8, 1934 in Rocky River.

Henry lived in Wheeling, WV from 1939 to 1952 and attended Linsly Military School. He graduated from Western Reserve Academy in Hudson, OH and Miami University in Oxford, OH. He lived in Lorain, Vermilion and resided in Elyria Township for the last 25 years.

Mr. Oppmann was a real estate and insurance agent for 35 years. He was a longtime active member of Alcoholics Anonymous for the past 23 years. He enjoyed sporting events and gardening.

Survivors included his beloved companion of 20 years: Sherry Denes; a sister: Elisabeth (nee Oppmann) Farwell of Libertyville, IL; brother: Andrew W. of Brookings, OR; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Andrew and Mildred (nee Saunderson) Oppmann.

Friends may call Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until time of Memorial Service at 3:00 p.m. at Wyers Funeral Chapel, 2900 North Ridge Rd, Elyria. Charles Boals, the Elyria Fire Department Chaplain will officiate with a combined Alcoholics Anonymous Service.
