Mary Evelyn Seres, 85, School Teacher, enjoyed flower gardens

She was born March 10, 1919 in Portsmouth, Ohio, and had lived in the Elyria/Grafton area for over 60 years.

Mrs. Seres was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Grafton for many years. She was a schoolteacher who taught in the Midview School System for several years and also at St. Agnes School in Elyria. She enjoyed making hook rugs, and her flower gardens. She was also a member of the Senior Citizens Club of the church.

Mary Evelyn is survived by two daughters: Mary Ellen Seres of Grafton, and Teresa Reeves of Davenport, Florida; 6 sons: Frank of Tulsa, Oklahoma., John of Glenview, West Virginia., Tom of Elyria, and Joseph, Dan, and Mike Seres of Grafton; 14 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband: James in 1992; 1 son: James; and her parents: Christopher and Edith Blume.

Friends may call the Blackburn-Duke Funeral Home; 1021 Main St. Grafton; Sunday from 3-7 p.m. with funeral mass Monday at 10 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church; 708 Erie St., in Grafton. Fr. John Seabold, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, in Carlisle Township.
