Carrol A. Harrison, 68, Taught at Vermilion High, enjoyed golf

She was born January 9, 1936 in Indiana, Pennsylvania. She has been a Vermilion resident most of her life. She was a math and physical education teacher for Vermilion High School for 23 years.
She was a member of the Vermilion United Church of Christ Congregational. She was also a member of the Vermilion College Club, First Ladies Golf League, Thunderbird Hills Couples Golf League, the Couples Travel Golf League, YMCA Bridge-a-rama. She volunteered delivering Meals on Wheels. She enjoyed playing bridge, traveling, especially to Alaska, camping, wintering in Florida, going to Cedar Point, reading and being a loving grandmother.
She is survived by her husband, Melvin Harrison to whom she was married of 34 years; two daughters, Deborah Baker Schwensen of Vermilion, and Tamara Baker McBee of Wilmington; son, Eugene Lee Baker of Vermilion; two step daughters, Kathy Dillinger of Cleveland, and LuAnn Athey of Vermilion; two step sons, Mel Harrison, Jr. of Ashville, and Chuck Harrison of Vermilion, 14 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brother, William 6. Lydic on February 1, 2004, a granddaughter, Kristi D. Freeman on March 24, 2001, and her parents, Charles Benny and Esther Annabell (nee Laney) Lydic.
The family will receive friends Thursday, March 18, 2004 from 11-2 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio.
A funeral service will be held at the United Church of Christ Congregational, 990 State Street, Vermilion, Thursday, March 18, 2004, at 4 p.m. The Reverend Wendell Brooker, pastor, will officiate. There will be a graveside service Friday, March 19, 2004 at 10 a.m. at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
