Lena S. Lahl, 89, Avid bowler, enjoyed gardening and sewing

Lena S. Lahl (nee Burzloff), 89, of Avon, formerly of Rocky River, passed away, Saturday, March 14, 2004 at Avon Oaks Nursing Home following a lengthy illness.

Mrs. Lahl was born October 13, 1914 in Rocky River and moved to Avon in 1975.

Mrs. Lahl worked at the Rocky River Basket Factory and as a custodian at Rocky River Junior High School. She was an avid bowler. Her hobbies included flower gardening, sewing and tropical fish. She also enjoyed her pet parakeet.

Mrs. Lain is survived by 2 daughters: Elaine Roger of Olmsted Falls and Sandra Balmert of Elyria and son George Lahl (Jessica) of Chatham, Ohio. Other survivors include 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by a daughter Anna Nestick, husband of 64 years, George H. Lahl, three sisters: Gertrude Capel, Marie Kein and Ella Wolff and 4 brothers: Henry Burzloff, Eric Blurzloff, Albert Burzloff and Bill Burzloff, and her parents: Albert and Lina Burzloff

The family will hold private services. Interment will be private in Sunset Memorial Park.

Arrangements are by the Busch-Burmeister Family Chapel, Avon Lake.
