Edward R. Doan, 70, Enjoyed watching the Cleveland Browns, baseball, and Nascar racing.

Edward R. Doan, age 70, of Lorain, died on Tuesday, February 18, 2003 at Grace Hospital, Amherst, following a lengthy illness. He was born on September 11, 1932 in Elyria, living in Lorain most of his life.

He was employed for the Carpenters Union, Cleveland as a pile driver until his retirement in 1990.

Edward enjoyed watching the Cleveland Browns, baseball, and watching Nascar racing. He was a stock car driver in the 1950's. Mr. Doan served in the United States Air Force where he was a military policeman.

He is survived by his daughters: Linda Cloves, of Maryland, Mary Doan, of Elyria, Vicki Doan, of Lorain, sons: Ricky, of Amherst, Michael of Lorain, his mother Esther Doan, of Greenville, sisters: Geri Smith, Barb Zollinger, both of Fort Wayne, IN, and Joann Wenrick of Covington, OH, and 5 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father Gilbert Doan in 1968, sister Judy Doan in 1947, grandson B.J. Doan in 1996 and granddaughter Angie Doan in 2001.

There will be no visitation or funeral. The Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain is handling the arrangements.
