Maria R. Ledee, 56, Retired in 2000 as a cook for Lorain Middle School

Maria R. Ledee (Vasquez), 56, of Lorain, died Sunday, February 16, 2003 at her residence while under the care of Visiting Nurses Hospice of Cleveland. She had been ill for three years. She was born on January 12, 1947 in Guayama, Puerto Rico, and came to Lorain 18 years ago.

She was a 1966 graduate of Rafael Lopez Landron High School in Guayama, and had completed seamstress courses at the local vacation school there. She was a cook in the Lorain Middle School for four years before retiring in 2000.

She was a very active member of Iglesia Pentecostal Cristo Missionera, where she served as an elder and deaconess, and Sunday school teacher. She was also a member of the Sociedad de Damas.

Surviving her is her husband of 24 years, Edwin, four sons; Hector Perdomo of Orlando, Florida, Eric Perdomo of Cleveland, Edwin Ledee Jr., of Lorain, and Israel Ledee of Lorain; four daughters: Maria Pillot of Elyria, Myriam Ledee of Lorain, Raquel Serrano of Lorain, and Lillian Ledee, at home, six grandchildren, her mother Catalina Gonzalez of Guayama, Puerto Rico, two brothers, Ismael and Andre Vasquez, both of Guayama, five sisters, Maria Vasquez of Arroyo, Puerto Rico, Aurora Vasquez of Guayama, Puerto Rico, Elsie Vasquez of Caguas, Puerto Rico, Catalina Vasquez and Herminia Escalante, both of Guayama, Puerto Rico. She was preceded in death by her father, Antonio Vasquez, and a brother Antonio Vasquez.

The family will receive friends on Monday and Tuesday, February 17 & 18, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm in La Eglesia Pentecostal Cristo Misionera, 1930 Broadway Ave., Lorain, where predecacion services will be conducted both evenings at 7:00 pm. Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, February 19, 2003 at 12:00 pm at the church with Rev. Miguel Serrano, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
