Helen Elizabeth Springer, 86, Enjoyed silk flower arranging and sewing

Helen Elizabeth Springer, (nee Crouse), age 86, of Elyria, died on Saturday, February 15, 2003 at Life Care Centers, Elyria, following a short illness. She was born on June 22, 1916 in Edensberg, PA. She moved to Elyria in 1986 from Johnstown, PA.

She was employed as a cafeteria worker at Cambria County School in Edensberg, PA and also at Mylo Park Grade School. She was a member of St. John Roman Catholic Church, Lorain. She was also a member of the Jolly 60's, Elyria Ladies Fellowship Group and The A.A.R.P.

Helen enjoyed silk flower arranging and sewing.

She is survived by her sons: Edward J. Randall, of Lorain, Ohio and William J. Randall, of Albertville, Alabama, daughters: Helen L. VanSteen, of Sodus Point, New York and Mary Bradley, of Elburn, IL, 18 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, brothers; James R. Crouse, of Billings, Montana and William J. Crouse of Sandpoint, Idaho, sister; Henrietta Williams of West Chicago, IL.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Edward L. Randall, in 1974 and by her second husband Russell J. Springer, in 1985, and parents: Clinton and Crescentia (nee Reffner) Crouse.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 19, 2003 from 6-8 pm in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2003 at 9:30 am in the funeral home followed by a 10:00 am mass at St. John Roman Catholic Church, Lorain. Rev. Fr. Thomas Smith, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be held at St. Benedict Cemetery, Carroltown, PA.
