Harvey H. Heyman, 93, Enjoyed Traveling

Harvey H. Heyman, 93 years of age, and a resident of Oberlin formerly of Henrietta Township, passed away February 13, 2003 at Welcome Nursing Home, Oberlin following a lingering illness.

He was born April 10, 1909 in Huron, Ohio. He was raised in Castalia and Florence Township and graduated from Birmingham High School. He moved to New Port Richey, Florida in 1971 moving to Port Charlotte, Florida in 1978. He had made his home in the Oberlin area since 1996.

Harvey was a self-employed Dairy Farmer in Henrietta Township for 30 years retiring in 1970. He also did road maintenance for Henrietta Township. After retiring from dairy farming, he opened Heyman Camper Sales which he did for about six years. He enjoyed traveling with his wife.

Survivors include his sons, Ronald H. Heyman of Conyers, GA and John A. Heyman of Winchester, VA; his daughters, Betty A. Leimbach and Harlen Hand both of Henrietta Township; 13 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Sybil A. (nee Leonhard) Heyman in 1987, his sisters Erma hacker, Alice Leonhard, Martha Kasper; his brothers, Robert Heyman and A.W. Heyman and by his parents, Alva B. and Gertrude (nee Dickel) Heyman.

Friends may call Monday, February 17, 2003 from 11:30 a.m. until the time of services at 1:00 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home, 373 Cleveland Avenue, Amherst. The Rev. Charles Livermore, associate pastor of Kipton Community Church will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, South Amherst.

The family suggests that memorials contributions be made to Heyman Historical Society, Kurt Heyman, 2417 Mudbrook Road, Huron, Ohio 44839.
