Chester A. Koreski, 88, Member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church

Chester A. Koreski, age 88, of Sheffield Township, died on Thursday, February 13, 2003 at Kingston of Vermilion, following a short illness. He was born on April 25, 1914 in Lorain and lived in Pittsfield before returning to Lorain in 1923.

He attended Clearview High School. Mr. Koreski was employed as a steam engineer for Ohio Edison, retiring in 1980 after 36 years of service. Prior to this he worked at Carek Greenhouse, Lorain and Republic Steel, Cleveland.

Chester was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church.

He is survived by his son: Anthony P. Koreski, of New London, daughters: Susanne Koreski, of Sheffield Township and Denise Rodisel, of Sandusky, two grandchildren and sister, Wanda Scheithauer of Sheffield Township.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 32 years: Anna M. (nee Smith) in 1975, parents: Anthony J. Koreski in 1972 and Anna (nee Wysomierski) Koreski in 1963, sisters: Julia Slavik in 1975 and Frances Chudzinski, in 2001.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 16, 2003 from 6-8 pm in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 17, 2003 at 10:00 am in the funeral home. Rev. Fr. Kevin Shemuga, pastor of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
