Jose Daniel "Baron" Sanchez, 80, Enjoyed playing dominoes, gardening, and carpentry
Jose Daniel "Baron" Sanchez, 80, of Lorain, died Saturday, February 8, 2003 at his residence following a lengthy illness. He was born April 10, 1922 in Coamo, Puerto Rico, he came to Lorain in 1956.He was a member of Sacred Heart Chapel, Lorain, and enjoyed playing dominoes, gardening, and carpentry.
Surviving is his wife of 56 years, Victoria (nee De Jesus), sons, Jose Jr. of Kansas City, MO, Pablo Sanchez, of Lorain, daughters, Ana "Lenny" Velez, of Lorain, Maria Sanchez, of Lorain, Migdalia "Lali" Gonzalez, of Elyria, Olga Cruz, of Cleveland, and Edna Sanchez, of Kansas City, Kansas, 18 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren, a sister, Celia Maria Castro, of Coamo, Puerto Rico.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene Sanchez, and Geronima (nee Luna) Sanchez, a son, Robert, in 2000, brothers: Eugenio, Julio, Jose, and Jorge, sisters: Aurea, and Nila, and a great granddaughter, Angelica Marie Feliciano.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 11, 2003 from 3-5 and 7-9 pm in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain, where funeral services will be Wednesday, February 12, 2003 at 8:45 am followed by mass at 9:30 am at Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue, Lorain. Burial will follow Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
