Katherine L. Schmidt, 90, Lorain Resident for past 60 years

Mrs. Schmidt was born on May 29, 1912 in Pittsfield, OH and lived in Lorain for the past 60 years. She was the owner and operator of the former White Inn and the Mari-Dona Restaurants both in Vermilion. Most recently, she was a homemaker. She was a member of the former First United Methodist Church, now known as Cornerstone United Methodist Church. She was also a former member of the Fireman's Wives Auxiliary.

She is survived by her two daughter, Mary Hamilton Maier of Marshall, VA and Donna Hamilton Sulpizio of Lorain, 6 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 9 great, great grandchildren, her sister LaVonne Croll of Ontario, CA, Irene Frances of Hiliard, Oh, Lela Nagy of Vermilion, OH, her brother Richard Gerber of Avon Lake and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Schmidt is preceded in death by her husband Herman J. Schmidt, son John "Jack" McGrady, her parents Frederick A. and Mary (nee Stoll) Gerber, her brother Donald Gerber, Fritz Gerber, Leonard Gerber, Lt. Col. Nelson A. Gerber, sisters Lila Stewart, and Lucille Ticher.

Friends may call at Schwartz Spence Boyer & Cool Home for Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street ,Lorain, OH on Friday, February 7, 2003 from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be held on February 8, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at Schwartz Spence Boyer & Cool Home for Funerals in Lorain, OH, with Rev. Beth McKee officiating.

Katherine L. Schmidt will be buried at Ridge Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Amherst Twp., Oh.
