Alvira M. Raesler, 1986 Potato Festival Queen, and enjoyed Las Vegas trips

She worked at the former U.S. Automatics and later retired from the former Kroger Grocery Store after 30 years of service. She was a member of church of the Redeemer in Lorain and also the Amherst American Legion Post #118; the Amherst Eagles Post #1442; the Amherst React; and the Vermilion Amvets Post #22. Mrs. Raesler was the 1986 Potato Festival Queen and thoroughly enjoyed her frequent trips to Las Vegas.
Survivors include her husband of 39 years, Harold Raesler; her daughter Doris Bellinger of Lorain; her stepdaughter Pamela Kish of Michigan; four grandchildren; one step grandchild; eight great grandchildren; her brother David Bliss of Lorain; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband Charles McIntire; by her parents Charles H. and Rachael Maude (nee Flint) Bliss; her brothers Lloyd and George Bliss; and by her sister Jessie Dlugosz.
Friends may call Thursday February 6, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 7, 2003 at 11:00 am from the funeral home. Burial will be in Cleveland Avenue Cemetery, Amherst.
