Henry Strehle, 87, WWII Veteran, charter member of Lions Club for over 50 years

Mr. Strehle attended Case Western Reserve College and was a United State Army Veteran serving during World War II in the South Seas.
He worked as a tool and die Engineer for Bishop and Babcock in Cleveland, Fruehauf Company in Avon Lake, and Pfaudler Company in Elyria retiring in 1992.
He was a member of Vermilion Evangelical and Reformed Church where he served as Elder for 20 years. He was also a charter member of Vermilion Lions club for over 50 years and a member of Ely Masonic Lodge #424.
He is survived by his son Joseph Strehle of Elyria; a daughter, Clareta Ann Czelufta of Richmond, VA, 5 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gertrude B. (nee Thompson) and his parents Joseph and Clara (nee Hauf) Strehle.
Friends may call Wednesday, February 5, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Military honors will be conducted at 7:00 pm held by the Vermilion Veterans Council. Services will be held at the Evangelical and Reformed Church, Ohio at Grand Street, Vermilion on Thursday, February 6, 2003 at 11:00 am with the Reverend John D. Hood, officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery.
