WIlliam Franklin Rennie, 65, Served in National Guard, enjoyed doing yard work
William Franklin Rennie, 65 years of age, and a resident of Henrietta Township, passed away Saturday, January 31, 2003 at New Life Hospice Residential Center in Lorain Following a brief illness. He was born March 7, 1937 in LaPort, Ohio and has been a resident of Henrietta Township since 1965.He served in the US Army National Guard. He was employed at Consumer's builders Supply for 28 years as a master mechanic and retired in 1994 from Local 571 Teamsters. He was a member of the Local 571 Retirees Club, the Masonic Gibson Lodge #301, Chapter 177, in Wakeman; was past president of the Firelands Lions Club; an honorary member of Florence Township Fire Department; and enjoyed doing yard work.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Mary Cecelia Rennie (nee Finnegan) sons: William J. of Birmingham, Michael F. of Wellington, and Richard A. of Amherst; his mother Gladys Rennie (nee Slauter) of Elyria; three granddaughters; his sister Diane Wagner of Idaho Falls, Idaho. He was preceded in death by his father William A. Rennie in 1977.
Friends may call Sunday, February 2, 2003 form 4-8 pm at the Hempel Funeral Home, 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00 am from the funeral home. The Amherst Military Honor Guard will perform military honors. The Rev. Gary Lunsford, pastor of First United Methodist Church of South Amherst, will officiate. Burial will be in Birmingham Cemetery, Birmingham.
