Kathleen Tony, 74, Her hobbies were cake decorating, and working with ceramics

Kathleen Tony (nee Flanagan), age 74, of Lorain, died Saturday January 25, 2003 at Saint John and West Shore Hospital in Westlake following a brief illness. She was born in Elyria, Ohio on February 23, 1928 and had been a resident of Lorain since the mid 1940's.

Mrs. Tony was formerly employed as a sales associate for the Hill's Department Store in Lorain. She later served as a driver for the Meals-On-Wheels program for Neighborhood House. A parishioner of St Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Elyria Township, her hobbies included working with ceramics and cake decorating.

Survivors include a son: Stanley Tony, Jr. of Sheffield Township, daughters: Linda S. Tony and Kathryn Reber both of Lorain, Patricia Vargo of Amherst Township, 6 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, brother: Jack Flanagan of Elyria and sisters: Patricia Coon of Elyria and Rosemary Keiffer of Amherst Township.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Stanley Tony, Sr. in 1998, by a daughter: Lori Tony in 1964, by her parents: Edward and Rose (nee LaCrosse) Flanagan, and by a brother: Richard Flanagan.

Visitation will be Monday January 27, 2003 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway, Lorain. Funeral services will be Tuesday beginning at 9:30 in the funeral chapel and will be followed by her funeral mass at 10:00 am in St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 41295 North Ridge Road, Elyria Township. The Reverend James Ols, pastor of St. Vincent Parish will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.

The family suggests memorials in her memory to the Murray Ridge School.
