James W. Dellinger, 73, Ford Assembly Plant Retiree
James W. Dellinger, 73 years of age, and a resident of South Amherst, passed away Friday, January 24, 2003 at the Emergency Room at Amherst Hospital following a sudden illness.He was born April 2, 1929 in Edinburg, Virginia where he was raised until moving to Lorain in 1950. He had worked for the Ford Assembly Plan in Lorain retiring after 32 years in 1993 as a maintenance man. He served in the Army. He enjoyed bingo and gardening.
Survivors include his son, Mr. Kim C. Dellinger of LaGrange, his daughter, Cindy Nelson of Amherst, 4 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, his sister, Arbutus Baker of Lorain.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Barbara Ann Dellinger (nee Bogardy); 6 brothers and sisters; and by his parents, Charles and Glendora Dellinger (nee Heishman).
Friends may call Sunday, January 26, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home, 373 Cleveland Avenue, Amherst where funeral services will be held on Monday, January 27th at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. Jay Roller, pastor of Grace Baptist Church, Lorain will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Amherst.
