Lucetta Mae Kalo, 85, Lorain resident since 1951
Lucetta Mae Kalo (nee Trostle), age 85, of Sheffield Village, died Tuesday January 21, 2003 at the New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph following an extended illness. She was born November 28, 1917 in Lorain and had been a resident of Sheffield Village since 1951.Mrs. Kalo was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Lorain where she served as an Elder. She was also an active volunteer with the Presbyterian Lutheran Food co-op, and the First Church Nursing Home Ministry.
She held the position of Noble Grand of the Welcome Rebekah Lodge #283, and received the Degree of Chivalry by the organization.
Survivors include sons: David of Avon Lake and Daniel of Fremont, Ohio, daughter: Mrs. James (Phyllis) Minor of Lorain, Mrs. Tom (Norma) Crnko of Sheffield Lake, Mrs. Dennis (Arlene) Sprouse of Elyria, Mrs. Ed (Wanda) Ducsak of Las Vegas, Nevada, Mrs. Michael (Linda) Kotowski of Avon Lake, 18 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, and a sister: Mrs. James (Arlene) Wilson of Winterhaven, Florida.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Lewis T. Kalo in 1980, by a son: Lewis Theodore Kalo, and brothers: Bill Hambly, Norman Trostle, and David Trostle, along with her parents: David and Ida (nee Koller) Trostle, and step-mother: Ethel Hambly-Trostle.
Visitation will be Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel - 3224 Broadway - Lorain. Funeral services will be Friday at 10:00 in the First Presbyterian Church - 1897 East 30th Street - Lorain. The Reverend Roy F. Schultz, will officiate. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memory Garden - Avon.
