Charles Lee Farley, 77, Spent his time in the yard, with his grandchildren, at the church, and playing horseshoes
Charles Lee Farley, age 77, of Sheffield Township, died on Monday, January 20, 2003 at his residence while under the care of Hospice of the Western Reserve, following a lengthy illness. Born October 18, 1925 in Herndon, West Virginia, Charles lived in Rock, West Virginia, before moving to Sheffield Township in 1953.He served in the United States Army. He was employed at General Motors Fisher Body, Elyria for 30 years as a carton maker, retiring in 1984. He was a member of Broadway Assembly Church and the United Auto Workers Union. Charles enjoyed working in the yard, playing with his grandchildren, working on the church campground, and playing horseshoes.
He is survived by is wife of 51 years. Lois Mae (nee Bailey), sons: David Farley, of Sheffield Township, Donald Farley, of Lorain, daughters: Mary Farley and Linda Linicome, both of Sheffield Township, 5 grandchildren, sisters: Beulah Bailey, of Rock, West Virginia, Kathleen Robbins, of Pearisburg, Virginia, and Betty Belcher of Princeton, West Virginia. He was preceded in death by his parents: John and Thelma (nee Grubb), brother: Frank Farley and granddaughter: Cynthia Linicome, in 1979.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 21, 2003 form 2-4 and 7-9 pm in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain and also on Wednesday, January 22, 2003 from 10:30 am until time of services at 11:00 am at Broadway Assembly Church, 5495 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Pastor Mark Lantz, of Broadway Assembly Church and Rev. Bill Shomo, chaplain of Hospice of Western Reserve, officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon, Ohio.
